Kate remembers meeting me on March 22nd, 2020, but I don't remember meeting her until the next time we saw each other in September! That's about on par for my memory.

 

Emma and I had just gotten back from camping with some friends when she invited me to the weekly game night she hosted with her brother. After I met Hunter for the first time, I couldn't stop thinking about him until I saw him again in September.

I thought Kate was pretty cute and Emma encouraged me to ask her out! We went to see Coco for our first date, maybe not the most inventive date ever but still fun.

 

I remember being so nervous/excited for our first date. I called Emma, wanting to check if Hunter saw it as an actual date or a friend thing. Her response "He cleaned out the car. It's a real date". I couldn't believe Hunter had asked me out and wanted things to go well.

Despite not being able to get the actual ring before living with her family for the summer, I was able to surprise Kate with a temporary engagement ring at one of her favorite beaches in California. I was nervous and super excited when she said yes! I can't wait to marry her!

 

I was so surprised by Hunter's proposal. We were visiting my family last summer and even though we had gone ring shopping together, I knew there was no way my ring had gotten delivered in time for him to bring it to California. We were at the beach, at sunset, and Hunter suggested we go on a walk. We go a little ways and I turned around and there he was, on one knee, asking me to marry him.
